Police checkpoint at Eurobox, Leiden

On 29 November last we were pleased to welcome the Politie Leiden Zuid and the Het Twickelerveld European Detection Dog Service for an unannounced inspection to check for the presence of fireworks in our self-storage facility at Rooseveltstraat 86 in Leiden. The dog, specially trained to detect fireworks and ammunition, found nothing; we are glad that we do not facilitate criminals by providing storage space for such dangerous items to our customers and staff. We have agreed with Het Twickelerveld and the police that we prefer repeated inspections and will at all times cooperate with investigations into criminal activities. Thank you to Politie Leiden and Het Twickelerveld for the excellent cooperation! And compliments on the photo! The Police themselves posted the following message on their Facebook:

Control at various locations

Today we carried out investigations at various storage locations into the storage of (illegal) fireworks. The day began at Eurobox Self Storage (https://www.facebook.com/Eurobox/) on Rooseveltstraat in Leiden. Here, a dog from Het Twickelerveld European Detection Dog Service (https://www.facebook.com/Het-Twickelerveld-European-Detection-Dog-Service-100743893353185/) was allowed to sniff all the units. No fireworks were found. At other premises on Rooseveltstraat the dog was also let out of the car, but again he discovered nothing. The day ended at Jacques Urlusplantsoen, where he sniffed several garage units. Unfortunate for him, but luckily for the local residents, no fireworks storage was uncovered there either. The dog had a fantastic day and was, of course, thanked for his efforts. With a heartfelt “woof-woof” (“my pleasure”), he jumped back into the car, on his way to the next assignment.
